Willis-Knighton’s Radiation Oncology celebrates National Doctors’ Day!

This holiday can be traced back to March 30, 1933. Started by Eudora Brown Almond, the wife of a prominent Georgian doctor, the day was meant to recognize and honor doctors for their service.
She used red carnations-a flower still used to this day for National Doctors’ Day celebrations.

The Willis-Knighton Cancer Center Blood Cancer Survivor's Brunch hosted by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Willis-Knighton Cancer Center was a great success. Attendees were able to celebrate and listen to speakers from various organizations about blood cancer and survivorship. A special presentation was made in memory of Paul David Lerchie who founded the multiple myeloma support group at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center. Thank you all for your support.

If you’re a blood cancer patient or survivor, you’re invited to a Blood Cancer Survivor Brunch, hosted by the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The free event, Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be at Hilton Garden Inn in Bossier City. Cancer survivorship is a journey made easier through the support of others. Let us help you! Join our staff today, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and learn more about resources available to help you during your cancer journey and into survivorship. Staff will be on hand to talk about nutrition, finances, transportation and more. We will be in the Proton Therapy Center and lunch is provided. You may even walk away with a door prize!
