In Honor Of Women’s History Month We Would Like To Reintroduce Our Provider:

Our provider graduated from Grambling State University in 2000 and began her career in pediatric nursing at LSUMC. She later worked in Oncology, Medical-Surgical, and Emergency Room nursing, where she first cared for mental health clients. While excelling in these roles, she also gained diverse experience through agency nursing.

In 2004, she began her Master of Science studies at Northwestern State University but paused due to health concerns. She resumed and earned her degree from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Following graduation, she taught Psychiatric, Pediatric, and Medical-Surgical Nursing at SUSLA and later became an Assistant Professor at Northwestern State University, teaching Critical Care and Psychiatric Nursing while continuing part-time clinical work.

In 2018, she pursued advanced psychiatric training at Saint Louis University (SLU) a top-ranked university, completing rigorous clinical hours under renowned mentors. After graduating in 2020, she launched L&A Behavioral Health Services. In 2021, she became the first Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to open a private practice in the Shreveport-Bossier area, providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care.

This Is TRUE….
I started my practice October 2021 with absolutely no knowledge on how to start a private practice/business. I only knew My Role as Provider….. I Researched many things in the beginning thinking I knew but…. I learned things the hard way ESPECIALLY NOT knowing everything there is to know about billing/coding/provider portals/ signing my own payment billing paperwork/knowing where payments were going/ How to track claims and watching my Revenue… let’s just say… I lost my first 3.5 years because I wasn’t educated… I have and still today share my past experiences with my fellow entrepreneurs who are thinking of or who have started their own private practice. I also share things I may come across I feel they should know they may or may not know about. I do this because I don’t want anyone to experience some of the things I have… Especially working hard, giving it their all and getting ripped off and not knowing important things they should know about owning/running a private practice…
