We are proud to celebrate our own Dr. Thomas Pressly, who has been named a Master of the American College of Rheumatology! The designation is the highest honor bestowed by the College and is given to those who have made outstanding contributions to rheumatology research, education and patient care. Dr. Pressly was one of just 16 new Masters to be honored by the organization during their annual recognition conference.

For over three decades, Dr. Pressly has served families at Shriners Children’s Shreveport, providing life-changing care for kids with a variety of rheumatic conditions. As part of his dedication to supporting families in need, he and his wife Tracy also founded Children and Arthritis, a non-profit organization designed to help families who are navigating the complexities of rheumatic conditions. The organization went on to found the Jambalaya Jubilee, an annual retreat for the families of children with arthritis focused on education, encouragement and enjoyment.

In receiving the award, Dr. Pressly acknowledged the support of his family, professors and peers, as well as “the most important people in my professional life—my patients—who have both inspired me and challenged me to do my best to improve their lives.”

Congratulations, Dr. Pressly, and thank you for your commitment and care for our patients and community! 🤩👏
