Our kids are ready to trick-or-treat in style thanks to our friends at Spirit Halloween! 🎃

As part of their Spirit of Children program, representatives from area Spirit stores conducted a festive Halloween party at our facility, complete with hundreds of costumes and accessories for kids to choose from. Thank you to Spirit Halloween for continuing to help make healthcare less scary for kids through this wonderful community initiative!

Shriners Children’s Shreveport recently joined with Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport to perform the region’s first endoscopic cranial vault procedure for the treatment of craniosynostosis. Learn more about this exciting medical milestone for our area via the KSLA News 12 story below!

It’s Medical Assistants Recognition Week! Our medical assistants offer essential clinical support by reviewing medical histories, checking vital signs, and explaining any required treatments or procedures. They also perform a variety of administrative and organizational duties to help make sure our clinics run smoothly.

We’d also like to recognize our phlebotomist, Frances, and our cast tech, Joe, who, like our medical assistants, provide exceptional clinical care, comfort and support to our kids every day.

Shriners Children’s Shreveport patient ambassador Dallas joined owner Jerry Jones and future Shrine Bowl Hall of Famer Daryl Johnston on stage yesterday to help announce the return of the to The Star in Frisco, TX! In a compelling testimonial, Dallas shared his experiences with our facility, and related how Shriners Children’s has helped him participate in the sport he loves. We are so proud of Dallas for sharing his story during this exciting announcement! ❤🏈

Our inaugural Canoe Camp was a splashing success, with kids from the Oklahoma City area and beyond joining us at Riversport OKC for a day of fun both on and off the water! The new camp offers kids of all ability levels ages 6-18 the chance to get on the water, gain confidence, and make lasting memories with fellow patients.

Led by Team USA canoe coach Kaitlin McElroy alongside our own Paralympian and prosthetist Jillian Elwart, kids learned canoe safety and fundamentals before testing out their new skills on the water. We rounded out the day with craft activities, face painting, and a cruise on the dragonboats.
