The Glen Retirement System is a nonprofit, Life Plan Community. The Glen is currently comprised of two campuses that serve the Shreveport Bossier Community. We have extended our services over the years to offer a multitude of living options to the senior women and men of our community as well as support services and community outreach programs that benefit those who live beyond our campuses. Our living options include: Independent Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments with Memory Care Services, and a Skilled Nursing Care Community with Short-term Rehabilitation & Memory Care services.

Green looks good on everyone! Redbrook and Stiles residents brought the luck of the Irish to life with a St. Patrick’s Day celebration full of festive outfits, delicious refreshments, and toe-tapping music. From laughter to lively dancing, it was a day filled with joy, community, and a little extra magic.

Ladies of Redbrook and The Stiles Apartments gathered for a special tea party, enjoying delicious treats, warm tea, and even warmer company. The Glen's monthly Caregivers Memory Loss Support Group meetings are open to anyone who has a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's or other forms of memory loss.

Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the Harrell Library at The Glen, 403 East Flournoy Lucas Road. This month's topic of discussion will be “Mindfulness.”

Congratulations to our GEAUX Award Winners and employees celebrating Years of Service milestones!

The GEAUX Awards are given annually to exceptional employees. GEAUX “Glen Employees Achieving Unsurpassed Excellence” is an employee recognition program based on feedback from visitors, coworkers, supervisors, residents and resident family members.

— Deborah Brakeville received the Rising Star Award. This award honors a new hire within the current year that exhibits The Glen’s mission, vision and values by demonstrating exceptional customer service, teamwork and cooperation that exceeds normal expectations.

— Teresa Micheels is the recipient of the Spotlight Award. This award acknowledges the contributions of employees who go above and beyond the everyday scope of their responsibilities by exhibiting unselfish devotion to duty while enhancing the residents’ quality of life.

— Jazzman Caldwell received the Spirit Award. This award is given to an individual who is encouraging, supportive and friendly - they make work a better place.

— Gordon Oswalt is the recipient of the Way to GEAUX Award.

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Residents and staff at The Glen brought the spirit of Mardi Gras to life with delicious king cakes, sparkling beads, festive outfits, and plenty of dancing and laughter. From sweet treats to joyful moments shared with friends, it was a celebration full of community and fun.

The Shreveport Rotary Club spread a little extra love today!
Residents at The Glen’s Village Health Care and The Cottages Assisted Living Memory Care are all set for Valentine’s Day after receiving beautiful red carnations from Rotarians. Such a kind gesture, and one that brought so many smiles and warmed hearts across the community.

We’re not sure if “The King” is still out there, but Residents of Redbrook Independent Living at The Glen celebrated Elvis’ birthday all last week! From Elvis-themed trivia to an unforgettable impersonator, the week was full of music, laughter, and memories. The festivities closed out with a screening of Viva Las Vegas—thank you, thank you very much! 🕺🎸

Did you know The Stiles Apartments has multiple floor plans to choose from, including two-bedrooms? Though this floor plan offers an extra room, the additional space does not have to be designated as a bedroom. Some residents choose to utilize the space as a home office or dining room. All Stiles Apartments at The Glen, including the other studio and one-bedroom floor plans, feature outdoor patios with ground level access and fully-equipped kitchens.
