📅 September 11, 2001 – We Remember

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who rose with courage on one of our nation’s darkest days.

As we reflect on this anniversary, may we never forget the importance of unity, compassion, and resilience. 🇺🇸✨

Let us keep in our hearts all who were taken too soon, those who sacrificed to protect others, and the countless lives touched by the tragedy of September 11th.

We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

🌿 Cemetery Fact 🌿

The word cemetery comes from the Greek word koimeterion, meaning “a place of rest.” ✨ In ancient times, it was often used to describe a sleeping place—symbolizing the belief that death is not the end, but a peaceful rest until we meet again. 💙

🌿 A Place of Peace and Reflection 🌿

Cemeteries are more than resting places; they are sacred grounds where love, memory, and faith endure. Each headstone tells a story, and every visit is a reminder that our bonds with loved ones are never broken—they simply take on a different form.

As we walk these grounds, may we find comfort in the quiet, strength in the legacy left behind, and peace in knowing that love is eternal. 💙

✨ Today, we pause to honor those who rest here and to hold close the families who continue to cherish their memory.

🌿 Cemetery Fact of the Day 🌿

Did you know that headstones were traditionally placed at the head of a grave to mark the resting place and honor the individual buried there? The practice dates back thousands of years, and over time, it became a way for families to preserve history, tell stories, and create a lasting tribute for future generations.

When you walk through a cemetery, every stone you see represents not just a name, but a life lived and remembered.

✨ Cemeteries are truly outdoor history books, holding generations of memories in one place.

🌿 A Place of Remembrance & Care 🌿

As we move through this week, we are reminded that cemeteries are not only places of rest, but also places of reflection, history, and family legacy. Every stone tells a story, and every visit keeps memories alive.

Our team continues daily efforts to preserve the beauty and dignity of these sacred grounds. Whether it’s keeping the lawns trimmed, clearing brush, or maintaining the roads, each step forward is done with care for the families who trust us.

Thank you to all who visit, share kind words, and notice the progress being made. Together, we are honoring the past while protecting these spaces for future generations.

💐 If you are visiting today, we wish you peace, comfort, and connection as you walk among the legacies of those who came before us.

We’d like to share this recent story from our local news covering the changes here at Forest Park Cemetery.

In the video, they touch on the challenges of the past under previous ownership, as well as the new steps being taken since our team took over. We are deeply committed to restoring and maintaining these sacred grounds with the respect and care they deserve.

So far, much has already been done — and there is still important work ahead. Our next priorities include:
🌿 Continuing brush removal and clearing overgrowth throughout the cemetery.
🪦 Raising and leveling footstones to honor families and loved ones properly.
🛣 Beginning road patching at Forest Park Cemetery to make driving through safer and easier.

We are so thankful to all the families who have noticed these efforts and taken the time to share kind words and positive comments with us. Your encouragement means so much as we continue this journey of renewal.

🌿 Hello Friday 🌿

As another week comes to a close, we’re reminded how important it is to pause, breathe, and take in the small moments that matter most — the ones spent with family, visiting loved ones, or simply finding a quiet space to reflect.

We’re grateful for everyone who comes through our gates, not just to remember, but to keep stories, love, and legacies alive. ❤️

Wishing you a peaceful and meaningful weekend ahead.

🌿 A kind word from one of our families 🌿

We recently received this thoughtful message and wanted to share it with you:

“My family has plots at Forest Park on St. Vincent Ave. I have been going weekly to check on the area. When I went yesterday, I thought the entire cemetery looked quite good. The grass has been cut and the roads are being fixed. The grounds keeper was actually at our family plot cleaning up limbs and sticks that had fallen from the Oak tree nearby. I’m so glad to see the cemetery is now being kept up properly. Thank you.”

Hearing that families are noticing the positive changes we’ve been working hard to make means so much to us. We are grateful for your kind words and for the opportunity to care for these sacred spaces. 💚
