Bates Chiropractic and Sports Therapy

Bates Chiropractic and Sports Therapy Bates Chiropractic and Sports Therapy Bates Chiropractic and Sports Therapy is not like any other clinic in Northern Louisiana. How do overuse conditions occur?

Here you will receive the same innovative treatments as professional athletes. Bates Chiro offers traditional chiropractic, nutrition, keniso tape, and rehab. However, Dr. Bates is bringing active release technique (ART) to Northern Louisiana. ART is the gold standard in soft tissue treatment. Dr. Bates has found his formula of treatment to work very fast unlike most standard treatments. Most patients see dramatic results from just one treatment! Even if you are not an athlete Dr. Bates has helped children, elderly and regular everyday people. Dr. Bates has already worked with numerous professional athletes, college athletes, and normal everyday people while completing his internship at one of the best sports chiropractic clinics in Texas. What is Active Release Techniques (ART) to Individuals, Athletes, and Patients? ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles. Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in three important ways:
acute conditions (pulls, tears, collisions, etc),
accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma)
not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia). Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numbness, and weakness. What is an ART treatment like? Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols - over 500 specific moves - are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach.

We have been voted the best since 2016!
Thank you and can’t wait to see you this week! . Best chiropractor Shreveport and Bossier!

From Dr. Bates:

Spoke with some young professionals the other day.
A hard truth? Too many don’t have the grind they’ll need.

Life is going to punch you in the face.
You get to choose — get back up and fight, or sit around waiting for a handout.

Business is hard.
It’s not for the weak.
It demands discipline, sacrifice, and consistency.

Love the grind.
Love serving people.
And most of all — let God lead you.

Being a chiropractor is the most awarding thing I could have set out to do!

I see throwing patterns like this all the time, and it shows just how far youth baseball has drifted from healthy development.

It’s only a light toss…
Yet the shoulder is already pushed far beyond what the joint was designed to handle.

That’s not “great mechanics.”
That’s not “high-level mobility.”
That’s a stressed joint signaling trouble ahead.

Here’s what most people miss:

⚠️ The shoulder isn’t where velocity is created
⚠️ The elbow isn’t where velocity is created
⚠️ Forcing the arm back farther will NEVER create safer or better velocity

Real velocity starts in the lower body—hips, core, timing, and proper sequencing.

When those aren’t working, the arm has no choice but to compensate:
👉 Too much layback
👉 Extra strain on the elbow
👉 A throw the body can’t sustain long-term

This is why we’re seeing injuries in kids younger than ever.

At Bates Chiropractic & Sports Therapy, we tackle the root problem.
Chiropractic care, soft-tissue work, and movement-based correction help athletes move better, protect the arm, and improve performance the right way.

If your kid’s arm looks like this mid-throw, it’s not “normal.” It’s a sign they need help—and it is fixable.
