LSUS history professor Cheryl White drew a packed bus for her "Haunted History of Shreveport" Tour for Oaks residents. Her presentations are always a resident favorite and to get historical analysis of the haunted folklore of such sites as Oakland Cemetery and Municipal Auditorium is a real treat!

St. John Berchmans Angels and Cherubs Choir made their annual visit to Savannah at The Oaks for a spirited musical performance (so precious) and trick-or-treating. Residents love that they have the opportunity to see little ones dressed in costumes and get to pass out candy …and get a hug or two!

Split pea soup, bread and water … that’s what a group of Oaks residents had for dinner at Spiritual Life Services’ Poor Man’s Supper. It wasn’t meant to fill the belly but to fill the heart and the donation basket for Christian Service, a local nonprofit that has served more than 3 million meals to the hungry since its beginnings in 1970. It achieved its purpose.

Residents with artistic gifts and those who claim they lack talent with a brush, crayon or glue gun routinely grab a chair for the latest Masterpieces or Messes class.
