Peggy Clewis Milford, 85, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026. She was born on June 14, 1940, in Bessie Mae, Texas, and lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering conviction, and deep love for her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Farrell and Kathleen Clewis, and her in-laws, Maxine and Wallace Milford. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her spirit with them: her devoted husband of 62 years, Gary Milford; her children, Karen Milford, Susan Milford Gatehouse, Mark Milford, and Lori Milford Thomas ; and her beloved grandchildren, Alex Milford DeVilliers, Katie Ott, and Connor Gatehouse; beloved great grandchild Blake DeVilliers. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Louise Robinson , whose friendship was a treasured constant throughout her life.

Peggy and Gary shared a love that stood as a true partnership—an enduring example that two parts can indeed make a whole. Their 62 years together were filled with loyalty, devotion, and a deep understanding that carried them through life side by side.

A graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in business, Peggy approached life with both intelligence and practicality. She had a natural gift for bringing clarity to complicated situations—she was the one people turned to when they needed steady logic and honest guidance. Her voice carried reason and a sharp sense of reality.

Peggy found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She was an avid reader, always with a book nearby, and she had a special talent for decorating—creating spaces that felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. These quiet passions reflected her inner world: attentive, creative, and full of care.

Above all, Peggy loved fiercely. She was deeply devoted to her husband and her family, standing by them with unwavering loyalty and strength. She believed in doing what was right, even when it was difficult, and she lived that belief every day. Her integrity was not just something she spoke about—it was something she embodied.

Peggy will be remembered for her honesty, her courage to stand firm in what she believed was true and good, and the steady, guiding presence she was to so many. Her legacy is one of love, principle, and a life lived with purpose.

Herbert Thomas Coleman, Sr., affectionately known as "Baby Sonny," passed away on April 12, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on September 22, 1944, in Natchitoches, LA, Mr. Coleman lived a life marked by devoted service, rich personal interests, and deep family connections.

A proud alumni of Union High School, Herbert furthered his education majoring in drafting for two years at Grambling University before answering the call of duty in 1966, he was drafted from college into the United States Marines Corp, where he served with honor in the Vietnam War. His military distinctions include the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (1st Award), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Presidential Unit Citation, and Meritorious Mast. His commitment to his country demonstrated both courage and dedication.

Beyond his military service, Herbert was a man of faith and community. As a Deacon at Shady Grove Baptist Church II, he played an active role in his spiritual community and was also a respected Mason, reflecting his commitment to fraternal values and fellowship.

Herbert was a man of many talents and passions. An avid Saints fan, he found joy in sports and the camaraderie it brought. His hobbies were numerous and varied: he was a skilled ham radio operator, a passionate photographer, flimographer, and an artist known for sketching horses. Additionally, he delighted in track activities involving his son, daughter, grandchildren and fishing, embracing the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life.

Mr. Coleman was an dedicated protector and provider, survived by his beloved spouse, Emogene Brown Coleman, and their three children: Herbert T. Coleman, Jr., Shemika Y. Coleman-Merritt, and Sheleada A. Coleman-Wells. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren—Mariah Garcia, Sierra Coleman, China Coleman, Amber Merritt, Alexus Merritt, Antoinee Merritt, Jr., Trent Wells, Laila Wells, Peyton Wells, and Taylor Wells—and his great-grandchild, Amirah Reign Garcia. His family also includes his loyal pets, Benji, Daphne, and Butch, who provided companionship in his later years.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Cezar Coleman and Nealar Payton Coleman, and his siblings Alverture, Soloman, Lena, Neala, Ceasar, Sam, and Charles. Their memories remain a treasured part of his life's story.

Family, friends, and community members will have the opportunity to honor Herbert's life and legacy during services held at Forest Park Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held on April 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow the next day, April 25, at 11:00 AM, with interment at Forest Park West Cemetery beginning at 12:30 PM.

Herbert Thomas Coleman, Sr.’s life was one of service, love, and dedication—a remarkable journey that touched many and leaves behind a profound legacy of faith, family, and friendship. He will be remembered with deep respect and fondness by all who knew him.

A Wife's Prayer and Goodbye for Now:

First of all I give give the glory to God for bringing us through the storm of life and continuing to hold us together. We have had good times and bad times, but through it all God saved our marriage. God gave us three children, ten grandchildren and our first great-grandchild of which I am so grateful. Thank you Jesus for all that you have done for us. I love my husband, I do believe I loved him from the moment we first met. I always have and always will love you. In Jesus name ~ Amen.

She is survived by her brother, William Mastin Scott III, who joins many in mourning the loss of a treasured family member. Margaret was preceded in death by her father, William Mastin Scott Jr., and her mother, Dorothy Jarriel Scott Tooley. Their memories endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved Margaret.

Don William Wyatt, a devoted family man, skilled welder, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on November 8, 1937, Don’s life was marked by dedication to his craft, service to his country, and unwavering love for his family and community.

Don was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, where he was born and ultimately laid to rest. A graduate of Fair Park High School, he further served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force. His commitment to hard work and discipline carried into his civilian career where he excelled as a welder and fitter. Don dedicated an impressive 37 and a half years to Beaird Industries, where his expertise and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues and the industry alike.

Beyond his vocational accomplishments, Don was a man of strong values and enduring wisdom. Those close to him fondly recall his guiding principles: "Take care of it and it will take care of you," "Where there is a will, there is a way," and "Never give up." His leadership and encouragement influenced many and remain a testament to his character.

Don’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a past member of the Summer Grove Baptist Church, where his presence was cherished by fellow congregants and friends. His spiritual devotion sustained him throughout life’s trials and triumphs.

He is survived by his children, Jason Wyatt and wife Traci, Diane Willis and husband Mike, Karen Pace and husband Jerry, and Brian Wyatt and wife Brenda. Don’s legacy also continues through his beloved grandchildren: Carmela and husband Steve Langley, Jennifer and husband Josh Rushton, Crystal and husband Jerimy Aston, Keith and wife Wendy Wyatt, Jacob Wyatt, Joshua Wyatt, and Jordyn Wyatt. His sister Joan Wyatt remains a cherished member of his family circle.

Don was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Jennifer Wyatt, whose memory he cherished deeply, as well as his parents, William Ray and Verda Wyatt.

Family, friends, and community members will gather to honor Don’s memory and celebrate his life at Forest Park Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m., followed promptly by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. All who knew Don are invited to join in remembering a man who lived with integrity, dedication, and warmth.
