🎨Introducing the NEW LOGO for The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Affordable Housing offerings!

Through the Louisiana Association for Disabled Persons Housing Corporation (LADPHC), The Arc Caddo-Bossier built and currently manages two 12-unit apartment complexes in the Lakeshore neighborhood of Shreveport.

🏠Since welcoming our first tenants in 1988, these 24 units have provided safe, affordable housing options for people with disabilities in our community through Section 202 of the National Housing Act, regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our Affordable Housing program is part of our broader commitment to ensuring that everyone has access to quality housing that meets their needs.

By managing these complexes directly, we ensure that residents receive the support and accommodations they need to live independently and comfortably in their own apartments.

🎨Introducing the NEW LOGO for The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Community Homes!

In October 1977, The Arc Caddo-Bossier opened Louisiana's first community home on Old Mooringsport Road, providing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the ability to thrive outside of institutions and large facilities. Today, we operate 8 community homes throughout Shreveport, Bossier City, and Vivian.

Each home provides a safe, nurturing environment where 6-10 adults of the same gender live together with support from:
🧡Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDPs) who coordinate individualized care plans
💛House Managers and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who implement daily support
🧡A person-centered approach that honors each resident's choices for vocational activities, recreation, medical care, and community participation

Our homes are more than just residences; they are households where individuals build lasting friendships, develop life skills, and enjoy the dignity of community living. Through customized Individual Program Plans, we help each resident work toward their goals while respecting their unique preferences and needs.

For 47 years, our Community Homes have remained committed to the vision that started it all: everyone deserves a place to call home.

🎨Introducing the NEW LOGO for The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Goldman School & Child Development Centers!

Goldman School & Child Development Centers are the ONLY centers of our kind in Louisiana! Our unique model, serving children with and without disabilities in inclusive classrooms, provides curriculum-based, high-quality early childhood education for infants and children ages 8 weeks through 5 years. As Type III, four-star licensed centers, we are laser focused on early intervention and kindergarten readiness for ALL children!

🏫With two locations, our original Jordan Street campus and the Highland Center location, we serve 170 children in year-round programming and offer two Early Head Start classrooms. Through partnerships with Early Steps and other therapy partners, the children we serve receive comprehensive services including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language therapy, and specialized instruction right in the classroom while learning with their friends.

At Goldman School & Child Development Centers, every child's unique strengths are valued. As we learn and grow together, we're preparing the next generation for success in kindergarten and beyond!

🎨Introducing the NEW LOGO for The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Community Living Supports & Services!

The Arc Caddo-Bossier pioneered the Supported Independent Living program in Louisiana, and today our Community Living Supports & Services (CLSS) program helps people of all ages live as independently as possible in their own homes.

We provide comprehensive support through various programs licensed as Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) by the Louisiana Department of Health:
🧡Supported Independent Living (SIL): 24-hour support options for adults with disabilities
💛Long-Term Personal Care (LTPC): Assistance with daily living activities
🧡Children's Choice Waiver: In-home and community services offered from birth through 20 year years of age
💛Personal Care Services: Vital living support from our Direct Support Professionals
🧡Respite Care: Both in-home and out-of-home specialized care for families

Our skilled Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work to provide participants with the assistance they need to maintain independence, pursue individual interests, and stay healthy and connected to their community through social and recreational opportunities.

All services are person-centered and designed to maximize each individual's skills, abilities, and self-esteem.

Good evening, Arc Caddo-Bossier Friends & Family.

Our incredible maintenance team went out this evening and assessed conditions at our office and school parking lot, which remains extremely icy and unsafe. Due to these continued hazardous conditions, The Arc Caddo-Bossier offices, Goldman Schools, Conly Day Program, Frost Industries, and GREAT Equine Assisted Services will remain closed on Wednesday, January 28th. Essential residential personnel will continue operations as normal.

We are hopeful and prayerful that conditions will improve, and we plan to reopen all programs and services on Thursday, January 29th, weather permitting. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as needed.

Thank you to our maintenance team for their diligence in keeping us informed and safe, and to all of our staff for your patience and flexibility during this extended weather event.

Updates will be shared via email and text notifications.
