Ours is a university based program that incorporates community affiliated training. Our goal is to give young physicians every real-life opportunity to learn the practice of family medicine and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to provide excellent and compassionate care in the various medical settings of today. We strive to help each resident grow both professionally and personally during the three years of training, as well as enable them to become life-long learners. Choosing a residency program is one of the most important decisions you can make in your medical career. The LSUHSC-Shreveport Family Medicine Residency Program actually consists of three different programs:

1. Rural Track (Located in Vivian, LA)
3. Combined Emergency Medicine/Family Medicine

Interns unite(d)! 💥 July had all our amazing interns together on inpatient, learning, growing, and having a blast as a team. It was such a fun and special time seeing everyone support each other through those first few weeks.
