Did you make anything yummy on this snowy day? We’ve been busy in the kitchen! We made two delicious and nutritious soups 🥣 as well as a yummy, *not* nutritious brookie 🍪🤤 The squash bisque is amazing with croutons and pumpkin seeds on top, and the italian chicken vegetable soup is great with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some whole grain bread. The brookie of course wants to be served warm with ice cream or whipped cream (or both!). Share what you made to give us all some ideas!

Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧🎊 Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year, and 2026 is the year of the Yang Fire Horse! 🔥🐎 Get ready for lots of big, bold energy! I can feel it already as I make plans for myself and our practice. It can be invigorating, but Yang must be balanced with Yin. Make sure to get plenty of rest, extra hydration, restorative movement like stretching, hiking and yoga. Eat dark leafy green vegetables, pears and berries. Do deep breathing exercises. Reduce screen time. Get acupunctue and light massage therapy, reiki or craniosacral therapy. This way we can keep ourselves grounded and centered amidst the sometimes wild energy of the fire horse!

Happy school vacation week! 🥳 Some fun facts: George Washington’s birthday, February 22nd, became a federal holiday in 1879. At first only Washington, D.C. recognized it, but in 1885 it was made into a national holiday recognized by all federal employees. It wasn’t until 1971 that it became observed on the third Monday in February, when Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act to shift several federal holidays to Mondays in order to create three-day weekends (also included in this Act were Memorial Day, Columbus Day, and Veteran’s Day. Veteran’s Day was moved back to its original November 11th date several years later). Because the observed day of George Washington’s Birthday always falls between Washington’s birthday and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday (February 12th), the holiday has become commonly known as President’s Day, though the official name remains Washington’s Birthday to honor the first president. Most schools in New England take a “February vacation” during the third week of February, kicked off with Washington’s Birthday, which began some time before 1916, reportedly to curb the spread of illness during the winter, while some say it was also to lower energy costs.

🎉 Please join me in congratulating Tricia on her new position as our Assistant Office Manager! Tricia has been with us for four years and has naturally and steadily grown in her role. She is a warm-hearted, kind and dedicated member of our team that goes above and beyond everyday to meet the needs of our patients and our provider team. She has been an enormous help to each and every one of our providers, and we are so grateful that she is now stepping into more advanced and managerial responsibilities.
Tricia is a fierce lover of our BT team and our patients, and we are so thankful for all that she does each and everyday to support us. ❤️ Thank you, Tricia!

It’s going to be dangerously cold for the next several days. We are all for getting fresh air and movement outdoors all year long, but these temps call for caution! It will be well below zero with the windchill. Please be sure to keep yourself (and your children and your pets) safe!

🕰️ Limit outdoor time
🧣 If you must go outside, dress in adequate layers.
👶 🐶 Make sure children have one more layer than adults, and pets are layered and ears and paws are protected!
