Abilities in Action is a comprehensive pediatric private practice with two convenient locations in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Abilities in Action provides pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy to infants and children. All of the therapists at Abilities in Action specialize in the field of pediatrics, with an average of 8 years of experience in treating children. We work collaboratively, holding weekly team meetings, to ensure optimal progress of the patients we treat.

This Thanksgiving week brings new routines, noise, travel, and sensory overload for many kids. For neurodivergent children especially, stimming isn’t “acting out”—it’s their nervous system trying to regulate.

Stimming helps a child:

🧠 Release excitement

😣 Manage overwhelm

😌 Reduce anxiety

🎯 Stay focused

Instead of saying:

• “Stop that.”

• “Sit still.”

• “Calm down.”

Parents and caregivers should try:
✨ “I see you.”

✨ “I’m right here.”

✨ “How can we help your body feel comfortable?”

World Prematurity Day is observed on November 17 each year to raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns faced by babies and their families around the world. With nearly fifteen million preemies born annually, one in ten families begins their journey with a little extra courage right out of the gate.

Today we’re spotlighting those incredible fighters and the families who stand tall behind them. Their strength sets the pace and we are truly honored to be part of their support team.

At Abilities in Action, we’re privileged to collaborate with families who demonstrate every day that progress is possible through consistency, compassion, and a steady game plan.

Here’s to honoring our preemies, celebrating their victories, and recognizing the generations of caregivers who’ve been championing each and every milestone.
