Today we proudly joined the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind at the State House to celebrate White Cane Awareness Day!
This annual event honors the independence and confidence that the white cane provides for individuals who are blind or legally blind, while raising awareness of the White Cane Law in Massachusetts—which requires drivers to stop and yield to pedestrians using a white cane or a guide dog at street crossings.
MCB Commissioner John Oliviera reminds us:
“The white cane has become a symbol of independence and confidence for legally blind or blind individuals.”
A big thank you to our amazing team members— Kathy Petkauskos, Kathy Muhr and Donna Mulder—who volunteered as human guides during this important event.
Let’s continue to spread awareness and advocate for accessibility and inclusion!

We’re pleased to share that Work Without Limits has recently undergone a thoughtful brand refresh. As an initiative of ForHealth Consulting at UMass Chan Medical School, this update reflects alignment with our broader ForHealth Consulting and UMass Chan identities — enhancing clarity, consistency, and impact across all communications.

While our logo and color palette has changed, our mission remains unchanged: to increase the employment of people with disabilities until it is equal to that of people without disabilities.
