Registration is open for the annual Tyler Vanderheiden Memorial 2 Mile and 5 Mile Road Run, set for May 30 at Cody Park in North Platte. This race raises awareness of mental health and encourages walking and running as effective tools in the battle for mental and emotional wellness. Proceeds from the race are used for the creation, maintenance or upgrade of trails in our state park system.

It is the Vanderheiden family's goal to see runners from every county in Nebraska and every state in the country participate in-person or virtually in the race. Help us turn this map green by signing up and inviting others to join.

💚 In the wake of the Nebraska wildfires, entire ways of life have been shaken.

Today Anita Rushman, PLMHP attended a Rancher Relief Conference—listening, supporting, and standing beside those who have experienced profound loss.

Behind every acre burned is a story. A family. A future that looks different now.

Our hearts are with the communities across Western Nebraska who have been impacted by the recent wildfires. These events affect not only homes and land, but also the emotional and mental well-being of those experiencing them.

We especially want to recognize the incredible first responders, firefighters, and volunteers who are working tirelessly to protect others. The weight of that responsibility can take a toll, even on the strongest among us.

At Karuna Counseling, we want our community to know that you are not alone. If you or someone you love has been affected by these fires — whether you are a first responder, a displaced family, or simply feeling the emotional impact of it all — we are here to support you.
