The trouble a man goes to in order to finally work on his health...

A business owner once confided that he worked himself up to get a full physical when he turned 45.

"Give me the works", he said. "What do I need to work on, Doc?"

"...You're looking good. Keep it up," said his doctor of 20 years.

That's it? he thought...Certainly there has to be more to it??

Well, there is.

Here are the TOP 4 Blood Labs you should be demanding to know and understand:

1. Fasting insulin
* Less than 10, ideally 5 or less.
* Predictor of diabetes 10-20 years before fasting glucose

2. Triglyceride: HDL Ratio
* Ideally less than 1.5
* More indicative of inflammation and cardiac risk than LDL, more on that later

3. MEN: Free and Total Testosterone
*For Men: ideally 600-900.
* Low numbers are often a clear indicator of fatigue, depression, low libido, sexual dysfunction, and weight gain. But the source can be multi-faceted.

WOMEN: TSH, Free T3, Free T4, RT3, thyroid antibodies
*First steps in understanding your hormone function, no matter what phase of life you are in.
* May even explain autoimmunity.

* Sometimes both sexes need both lab, depending on your history...

4. Vitamin D
* Ideally 60-80: Clear indicator of low immunity. Highly correlated to fatigue, depression, heart disease, diabetes.

Bonus: Coronary Artery Calcium Score: should be a $99 test
*Measures plaque levels- 10 year predictor of cardiac risk for asymptomatic individuals

Many patients come in feeling tired without knowing why.

Erin explains how often low vitamin D is the missing piece.

Levels in the teens can leave people drained, yet a simple daily supplement can support energy, immunity, and overall wellbeing. This is why we check these levels routinely and guide patients toward what their bodies actually need.

Clear answers and gentle solutions help families feel like themselves again.

Theodore shares what so many people hope to find in their care team.

He describes feeling heard, supported, and guided through a plan that included supplements, follow up testing, and real attention to his cortisol and overall health.

Progress came from steady, informed steps and a team that stayed engaged.

This is the difference consistent, root cause focused care can make for individuals and for workplaces that want healthier, more supported employees.

Whole health works best when the care team is connected.

In this conversation, Lisa and Erin explain why primary care, nutrition, supplements, and physical therapy should not function as separate lanes.

When these pieces come together under one team, patients get clearer answers, faster support, and care that addresses root causes instead of symptoms.

This is the model we use at Victress to help families and employers cut through the confusion and get the care they actually need.

Hearing from employers who have seen real change in their teams reinforces why root cause care matters.

Scott McKenzie of US Plastics highlights the impact of longer appointment times, complete blood work review, and support that looks at the whole picture instead of isolated symptoms.

It creates a path to long term health rather than short term fixes.

For organizations, this means fewer barriers, no billing complications, and a partner focused on keeping employees healthy and engaged.

This is the kind of care that builds stronger workplaces.

Parents want calm, predictable days, yet so much of that depends on choices made early in the morning.

In this conversation, Lisa, Erin, and Carrie Winhoven of Saint Philomena Montessori share simple guidance that helps families reduce overstimulation and create steadier routines.

Small decisions like choosing lower sugar breakfast options and protecting consistent sleep patterns can shift the entire tone of a child’s day.

These are the kinds of practical steps we teach in our wellness programs for both families and workplaces.

Support like this builds healthier homes and healthier teams.

When patients talk openly about how their care has changed their daily life, it reminds us why whole health support matters.

Connie shares that she feels better in the areas that matter most and trusts the process even as she navigates normal age related challenges.

Her encouragement is simple and sincere.

Give it a try. It is worth it.

When people feel heard, supported, and cared for, they stay engaged in their health and connected to the team guiding them.

This is the kind of patient experience businesses want for their employees and the kind of relationship we commit to every day.

Gut health affects energy, digestion, mood, and how steady you feel day to day.

Erin shares how her own microbiome testing confirmed what her body was already signaling and how adding a gentle, high quality probiotic supported regularity and reduced bloating within days.

These simple, targeted solutions are why we pair functional testing with Well supplements.

When people understand what their body needs, progress becomes much easier.
