May is Better Speech and Hearing Month, and we’re proud to recognize the compassionate care provided by Nancy Bassett, Speech Language Pathologist at Sidney Health Center. 💙

Each month, Nancy helps approximately 230 patients improve communication, swallowing, speech, language, and overall quality of life through personalized therapy and encouragement every step of the way.

Speech therapy can help diagnose, treat and manage limitations in the following areas:
• Speech and Language
• Swallowing
• Articulation
• Dysfluency
• Resonance
• Receptive and expressive language disorders
• Sensory processing and integration
• Pediatric care in clinic and schools

For patients of all ages, Nancy is there every step of the way with skill and encouragement, making a difference in the lives of the individuals and families she serves across our community.

It's National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day! Let’s remember that mental health needs are just as important for children as they are for adults. When left unaddressed, mental health challenges can significantly impact a child's ability to learn, grow, and thrive, making early support more important than ever.

What Can You Do?
💚 Listen without judgment: Create a safe space for the children in your life to share how they're really feeling.
💚 Know the signs: Changes in mood, behavior, sleep, appetite, or school performance can all be indicators that a child is struggling.
💚 Start the conversation: You don't have to have all the answers — simply asking "How are you doing?" and truly listening can make a world of difference.
💚 Seek help early: If you're concerned about a child's mental health, reach out to their pediatrician or a mental health professional. Early intervention matters.

This group of dedicated nurses, which is comprised of advanced practice, registered nurses and LPNs, make up 19% of Sidney Health Center’s workforce.

Our nurses bring leadership, compassion, and heart to every patient interaction. They advocate, guide, support, and uplift making a difference for patients, families, and our community.

At Sidney Health Center, Audiologist Ashley Anderson helps patients of all ages improve hearing and stay connected to the people and moments that matter most.

Ashley provides more than 100 patient visits each month, offering care that includes:
• Diagnosis and management of hearing and balance concerns
• Hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and repairs
• Aural rehabilitation, hearing conservation, and assistive listening devices

We’re proud to welcome Courtney Miller, AGNP, to our Cancer Care team at Sidney Health Center. 💙

Courtney’s journey with us began in 2021 as an infusion nurse, where she quickly became a trusted guide for patients navigating individuals and families through every step of their cancer journey. Now, as an Advanced Practice Provider, she continues that commitment, providing compassionate, comprehensive care close to home.

Working alongside Dr. Aaron Franke, Jessica Sweetser, FNP and our dedicated oncology team, Courtney provides patient consultations, treatment management, education, and ongoing support ensuring each patient receives personalized care while staying near their loved ones and support system.

Her passion for oncology, commitment to patient-centered care, and continued growth within our organization reflect our mission to expand access to high-quality cancer care right here in our community.
