Whether young, old, athletic or active, not active, injured/rehabilitating, pre or postnatal ~ everyone can benefit from the regular practice of Pilates. As a Prenatal Pilates Movement Doula, I offer a unique, safe, well-rounded prenatal Pilates program that will guide and assist the prenatal client through balanced movement to maintain strength, support and flexibility emphasizing the importance of a meaningful, comprehensive prenatal Pilates practice. Through this program we will work to promote optimal postural alignment to help minimize unnecessary, excessive lordodic and kyphotic deviations, as well as helping to alleviate other conditions such as heartburn, indigestion and nausea. We will use breath to increase circulation, promote relaxation, focus and endurance. The prenatal client will learn how to apply these breathing techniques (in various positions) to not only assist in decreasing common discomforts that may arise during pregnancy, but also help prepare her for labor and birthing, using these techniques.
