***Day of Giving & Wellness UPDATE ***

As soon as I knew we were doing this event for Peaches Pantry, I emailed Maruchan - the Raman people - explaining what Peaches Pantry is and what we are doing to help them. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - right.

No email response, so I figured they either didn't get to it or it was easier to just not respond. Buuuttt ..... Yesterday I received a letter in the mail from them with 6 coupons for a free 6 pack of Raman.

Was it what I was hoping for? No. Am I a little disappointed in their response? Yes. Am I greatful what what they did give? Yes. So I think they could have done more? Also, yes. So I understand their position? Yes. I'm sure I'm not the only one that reached out or does reach out for this kind of assistance and they can't "feed the world" all on their own

I was hoping that they would at least make me the same offer that Safeway had, .09/PKG. I would have put down a couple of hundred dollars and I know others would have too and the company could have still made money. Maybe next time.

However, we are greatful for what what we were given to help feed our local kids. It's a start. Thank You Maruchan.

All my local SV and surrounding area peeps.... Please come out on 4/25 bring 5 non-parishable food items per class, take a class or two. Or just bring some food by and sit down, hang, out, watch the crazy fun ensue and be a part of something wonderful 🩵

🎉Roses Poses Day of Giving and Wellness Event!🎉

Join us on Sat., 4/25 from 9A - 9P for an Amazing day of Giving and Wellness.

We will be offering various classes for the low low price of 5 non-parishable food items per class (think Ramen, individual Mac & Cheese, etc).

What/Why!? You may ask....because there is a VERY REAL issue children in our community face - food insecurity. Many children rely on the breakfast/lunch they get from school and often times have little or nothing else to eat all day, and weekend can be very tough for them to have access to meals.

This is where Peaches Pantry came in. They help to provide school children with food for the weekends and school breaks. They go to schools on Thursdays and Fridays and give food to children that experience food insecurity. Yes, this is a VERY REAL thing.

I found out about this organization and wanted to help. I made a post for Ramen donations while it was a great sale at our local grocery.

Then one of my fellow yoga teachers, Megan Jones, reached out to me with an idea. She wanted her and me and one other teacher to offer a class for 5 non-parishable food items. I said great idea!

She planted the seed in my mind and I thought - NO we can do more let's MAKE IT BIGGER! I reached out to a few others in the the fitness/health/wellness community (that I've met so far) and started speaking to people in my classes about the idea and people said "I'M IN".

So on Sat., April 25th starting at 9A classes will begin. Mark your calander plan to stay for the day. Water and snacks will be provided. Try a variety of yoga classes see how it speaks to your body and soul PLUS a Self Defense class AND a Plant Medicine class!

PLEASE join us for a Day of Giving. I am GIVING my studio, I and 7 other instructors/facilitators are GIVING their time and expertise. You GIVE the 5 non-perishable food items per class AND YOU GET the physical, emotional, and spiritual Wellness from all of the classes and the GIVING. And the children in need get emotional and physical Wellness from not having to worry about where a few meals might come from..

AND when this is a smashing success..... Next year will be even BIGGER!!!

SV Sound Bath

Especially NOW I think we can all use a little peace, a little relaxation, a little letting go. Along those lines we will be having NOT ONE but TWO sound baths coming up March and April with the beautiful and lovely Carrie of Crystal Lotus Blessings. Good Morning 🌞 - I'm putting a call out to ALL of our SV yogis and SV followers that can help.

There is a local organization called Peaches Pantry (a 501c) that helps to feed food insecure children in our community. They go to schools late in the week and give food to the kids in need so that they (and sometimes their siblings) don't go hungry over the weekend. This is a very real and sad thing.

When I went to their New Year's Eve bash one of the speakers said that Ramen is their easiest and most asked for food. And he suggested that when the grocery stores have the sale .09/PKG of ramen to buy the max allowed and donate it. Sooooo......

Right NOW Safeway has Ramen for .09/pk limit 48 pkgs per app subscriber. IF you can find it in your heart to go to Safeway buy 2 cases that's 48 pkgs. It's only $4.32 for 48 pkgs. You have to have the app and click the coupon in the app, and scan your QR in order for it to ring up at .09/pkg. And if you self check out you have to scan the PKG 48x (maybe let a cashier check you out for this one). Text me and bring it to the studio. I WILL pay you back when you bring the "nums" for the kids.

My husband had the app, I downloaded the app, I have asked my sister to download the app., but I thought let's go BIGGER!

YES, I did speak to the grocery store manager told them I wasn't looking for anything for free I would pay for it but could they let me buy more then the 48 pks....and they said they can't do that at the store level it's a "corporate thing". Yes, I will email Safeway corporate, but by the time see and respond the sale would be over. I will also try reaching out to directly as well.

Spring break is coming up and the kitchen ds won't be in school for their lunches so this is a big news in our community.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this and do what you can to help. Food insecurity is a real thing, parents food stamps have been cut, we can all do a little something to make a BIG difference 🩵

New Page🎉

I have started a new FB page AZ with Me - Rose of Roses Poses. Hop on over and follow that page as well. I'll be sharing my AZ Adventures, highlighting local small businesses, take you shopping with me, cooking, and my life in general. I have also started an Instagram page (thank you Ashley of Babe Cave and Jolene with Allo for the gentle push😉) and a YouTube channel (once I figure out editing, that will have long form content)....please like, subscribe, comment (nicely😉) you know all the things...and as many as you can. I will still keep this page dedicated strictly to the studio - the others will have yoga related posts as I get more familiar and comfortable with "things".
