In 2022, The Basics of Happy landed our first line of Roller Skates! Fully self/family/retailer/community FUNDED… and we are just getting started!
-
Next year we will be leaning into the art of connection, to ourselves, to others, how skating helps and heals these parts of us… I cannot wait to dive into The Basics of Happy as a whole company!

As a business owner who is a neurodiverse perfectionist, it’s always hard for me to see how far I’ve come… I get caught up in the immediate day to day, and those challenges. I had to go back to full time work this year to support this dream, so things had to slow down as I racked up 55-60 hour work weeks… on top of keeping this a float. So, THANK YOU to all of you for your patience and encouragement over this year. It’s greatly appreciated, and every bit of support keeps me going… you’re words, connection and kindness always reach me when I need to hear it most. Especially when I get in my head about perfecting my design for this new Free Flow boot, so grateful for everyone’s feedback and excitement.

I started my afternoon hanging out with at in Bushwick! I’m so grateful Skate shops like this carry my skates. Any questions you may have about roller skates can be answered by any of the crews at both locations… and this crew was so welcoming and knowledgeable time flew just chatting about skating and gear tech.

Skate Apparel is now live; and the site is fully stocked as of 11:11 tonight.

Each garment is meant to be worn while you’re skating for maximum comfort, so you can show off that individual skate style, and all washable so you can wear them over and over! I absolutely LOVE each piece and I hope you all do too! All designs and silhouettes are exclusive, only while supplies last! All designs and garments are unisex.
