There are not many podiatric physicians in the US who are still in practice who have the privilege of caring for the feet of the 3rd oldest woman in the United States and the 23rd oldest person in the world.
I have been caring for Mary Harris’ feet and nails for many years and at 113 y/o my patient is a real national treasure.
With her permission, Mary Harris allowed me to share this picture from my office on 10/29/24 on my page to see someone who amazingly could pass for 79. I might add, her skin and nails are in much better shape than 70% percent of other patients who come to see me.
Her favorite dish is pasta. She can still trade recipes, and she even voted early this year as well. She gets around on her walker at home and I even ran into her a week before this picture was taken shopping at Walmart. She has a good sense of humor and is always smiling at every office visit.
Everyone is so focused on the election now, but no matter who wins the election, Mary Harris is a phenomenal example of someone who has had a wonderful life, doesn’t let stress rule her day and still lives life to the fullest. We can all take a lesson from Mary and smile our way through each day we have with family and friends.
