📢 Join Us for Our MCH Educational Session – February 25, 2026!
We’re excited to host an upcoming Maternal & Child Health (MCH) session focused on supporting parents, babies, and workplaces.
🍼 Breastfeeding Support Matters
Breastfeeding is an important feeding practice for parents of infants and young children. However, where a parent may be when they need to pump milk or breastfeed can be unpredictable. This session will discuss how workplaces can become more breastfeeding-friendly by providing dedicated time, space, and supportive policies for lactating employees.
❤️ Pregnancy & The Heart: Facts vs. Folklore
Understanding what happens during pregnancy is essential — especially when it comes to matters of the heart. There are many folk tales and old wives’ tales about mothers and babies and their hearts.
💓 Can babies recognize their mother’s heartbeat?
💓 Do mothers and babies have synchronized heart rates after birth?
💓 Is this real research or simply stories passed down over time?
Join us as we explore what science says and separate fact from fiction!
📅 Date: February 25, 2026

On behalf of the MBRC Board of Directors, CEO, Staff and Volunteers, we honor and remember Talmadge West, a truly dedicated MBRC volunteer and a cherished part of our organization’s history and community service.

Talmadge gave his time generously and has played an important role in MBRC history with many meaningful memories over the years during community events, trips to Washington D.C. and most recently our annual Volunteer Appreciation program in December. His humor and nickname “Grill Master at the Annual Fatherhood Fishing events, where he had fun, shared stories with much laughter, smiles and wisdom.

He was a role model for our youth and always wanted to know how we could do things better to help the communities with emphasis on young men.

We are deeply grateful for everything Talmadge contributed and for the joy he brought into so many of our lives. He will be missed more than words can say, but his impact, kindness, and laughter will always be remembered.

With much sympathy for your family and friends. ❤️
