Children's eyes change quickly as they grow. Here are a few things to know about school-aged children's vision.

*Farsightedness is present in most school-aged children but tend to not need glasses as they can accommodate by using their focusing muscles to see clearly near & far.

*Monitoring screen time may lower the risk of myopia & help alleviate digital eye strain. Follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

*Children can develop cataracts after birth or can be born with them. Pediatric cataracts are often discovered during the eye screening at birth but also by yearly eye exams.

3 signs of childhood vision problems are:
*Loss of interest in activities that require eye use
*Losing their place while reading
*Turning their head to see something directly in front of them.

Good vision is key during a child's physical development, so don't skip your child's yearly exam as they are important for detecting & correcting eye problems early.
