Join us in welcoming our newest PTA, Madeline Hood! Madeline was a student at HSPT last spring, and we're thrilled to have her back as a PTA.
Originally from Heber Springs, she now lives in Bentonville with her husband and three pups, where they love all the outdoorsy opportunities with trails, riding bikes, attending concerts and more. Her journey to becoming a PTA was born out of wanting to help people get back to their best selves while providing light on some of their dimmer days in the process. Next time you're in the clinic, be sure to give Madeline a warm welcome.
"It's a good day to have a good day!"

Let's talk about getting older! Aging is something we all experience, but it doesn’t have to mean slowing down. While our approach to exercise may change over time, staying active is still one of the best ways to support a healthy life. Strength training can help maintain bone density, especially for women, and regular cardio keeps your heart strong. If you’d like guidance on building an exercise program that fits your stage of life, we’d love to help you create a plan that works for you!

Wondering what your first PT visit looks like? Your one-hour evaluation is completely one-on-one with a Physical Therapist, where we’ll get to know your goals, create a unique recovery plan, and send you home with exercises to keep you progressing between appointments. We'll also decide on a timeline that suits your lifestyle and schedule the next several appointments before you leave. Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out some quick paperwork, and don't forget your ID and insurance card. From day one, we’re here to help you heal and get back to living your best life.

Struggling to complete your exercises at home? We get it! Life can be busy and it can be hard to start something new. But, if you're able to complete your home exercises you'll accelerate your healing and build healthy habits for the future. Win win! Here are some tips to help you get started and stay on track.

1. Create a routine
The exercise program your PT gives you is designed to fit into even the busiest of schedules. By setting aside 15-30 minutes each day around the same time, you’ll get into a routine that can eventually build a habit and it won’t even feel like extra work!

2. Organize your equipment
When you know where your bands, exercise balls, weights, water bottle and other essentials are, it’s that much easier to jump into a quick exercise program.

3. Listen to your body
Start slowly and don’t do too much right away. Even completing some of the reps is better than completing none!

4. Ask your PT questions
We’re here to help! If you don’t understand one of the exercises or you’re feeling additional pain or discomfort, we want to know so we can modify your program.
