Hello everyone! El Refugio is happy to announce we will be holding our first ever Run For Hope the run will be 2 miles.
The event will take place October 25th,2025 @9:00am in the Historic Fort Bayard District!
Please contact us for a registration form!
The $35 fee includes a T-shirt for the run, 1st place will receive a $100 gift card, 2nd $50, 3rd place $25.

🌞 End-of-Summer Celebration Recap! 🌞

What an amazing way to wrap up the season! We had a fantastic turnout with families from all over coming together to celebrate. The kids had an absolute blast, the laughter and smiles were contagious, and it was wonderful to see our community mingling and making memories.

A huge thank you to Mr. Elote for the incredible food that kept everyone happy and full, and to the Silver City Police Department for joining in the fun and supporting our community. 🎉 We also loved sharing some great giveaways with our guests your excitement made it even more special!

Beginning Years is a facilitator for the safe sleep initiative, and has been for several years! Call, message or come by. We can help support you and have both pack and plays as well as bassinets for families interested in learning more about safe sleep!

The New Mexico Department of Health is giving free Pack ’n Play portable cribs to all parents and caregivers with children younger than 2 years of age who complete a free Safe Sleep Ambassador training.

📱 Screen Time Tips for Ages 0–5!
Little minds grow best with real-world play, not screens. 💡
✨ Set healthy habits early:
👶 0–2 yrs: Avoid screen time (except video chats)
🧒 2–5 yrs: Limit to 1 hour of high-quality content daily — co-watch when possible!

🎨 Try these screen-free ideas instead:
• Read together 📚
• Play outside and explore nature 🌿
• Dance to music or sing songs 🎶
• Build with blocks or sensory play 🧩
