Why did Early Christians honor Mary as Queen?
The Queen Mother Typology
In the Davidic kingdom, the king’s mother (not wife) held the role of queen.

When Bathsheba approaches her son Solomon, we read:

1 Kings 2:19

The king rose to meet her and bowed down to her… and a throne was set for the king’s mother.

She intercedes.

This becomes typological when Christ is the true Davidic king.

If Jesus is the eternal Davidic king, then:
• His mother participates in the queen mother pattern.

This is one reason early Christians saw Marian queenship rooted in Davidic structure, not later invention.
