Project Details:
This project consists of a 150,000-sq.-ft., six-story headquarters office building in Silver Spring, MD.

Congratulations to DPR Construction, their project; United Therapeutics Unitherium and Headquarters is now on the ABC Metro Washington and ABC Virginia Project Maps! This is a Class A, highly finished project with offices, conference center, cafeteria, and healthclub with retail on the lower levels. The first three levels consist of a healthclub which includes a rooftop lap pool, treadmills with integrated computers, chromatherapy lab, massage room, japanese tea garden, game room, and serenity lounge with dedicated locker rooms. There is also a day care center, bar, and juice bar on the first floor. For this addition, DPR is utilizing BIM for exterior skin coordination which is allowing us to detect design and constructability issues prior to on-site installation. The data in the skin coordination model will be transferred into Trimble machine and used for site layout. 4-D modeling allows us to visualize the whole construction process along with timeline and help us identify schedule conflicts and improve the project delivery schedule. DPR is utilizing 3D model to illustrate site logistics which helps new comers understand site logistics easily and recognize site specific-safety issues.
