Camp Corral is opening their 2026 Summer Camp applications TOMORROW at Noon EST! While they accept applications for children of active duty service members, they are charged with a mission. That mission is to focus support on those who have a veteran parent, of any era, who is wounded, ill, or fallen. Children of active duty service members are placed on a wait list and MAY be able to attend given availability of camper spots.

January is a Month of Service—a time to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through action. This month, we are spotlighting a Maryland Joins Forces partner whose work reflects a deep commitment to service and community impact.

The Travis Manion Foundation is leading two service projects that embody Dr. King’s call to serve others, turning shared values into meaningful, hands-on action across our communities.

January 19 | Annapolis
Volunteers will gather at Naval Bagels at 10:00 a.m. to write thank-you cards and assemble small appreciation bags with TMF bracelets. At 11:15 a.m., teams will head out to personally deliver these messages of gratitude to local first responder organizations throughout the area.

January 24 | Baltimore
Volunteers will support Our Kids Read by sorting, organizing, and tagging books that will be distributed to children and schools across the community. Tasks include a mix of lifting (35–40 lbs) and lighter-duty activities, with opportunities available for all ability levels.

Free Comedy Writing Workshop - Try Something New to Celebrate the New Year!

Join comedian Amelia Bane for a comedy writing workshop. Give yourself a break from your routine and take some time to laugh in community. Each workshop, we will read a humor piece and react to it together. After some discussion about technique and what makes comedy writing work, we’ll write our own pieces. We’ll come together at the end of the hour to hear a few participants share their work. You never have to share if you’re not in the mood. Come write with us or just come laugh with us!
