When health challenges left Oscar unable to walk comfortably, bathe safely, or even leave the house, he feared he might never regain his independence. But with support made possible through the Holy Cross Health Foundation, his life took a positive turn.

After receiving surgery to create a dialysis fistula and gaining access to essential medications, Oscar now has the freedom and mobility he once lost. As he shared:

“Before, I couldn’t go out, bathe comfortably, or even go to the beach… Now, I can live a more normal life. I feel better physically and emotionally.”

Today, Oscar is focused on staying healthy, active, and present for his children, a reminder of the difference compassionate care can make for patients and families.

Today, our tiniest champions lit up the unit as the NICU hosted its very own Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony!

From adorable torch-bearing babies to our incredible physicians and nurses teaming up to showcase their NICU Gold Medal pride, the room was filled with joy, teamwork and resilience. These little fighters reminded us that strength comes in all sizes.

A huge shout‑out to our dedicated NICU team for creating moments of hope and celebration for families and staff alike. Let the games begin!
