🌟Celebrating Another Victory for Workplace Inclusion!🌟

In a triumph for equal opportunity, Tech Mahindra, Inc. will pay $255,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought forth by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The case? Tech Mahindra's refusal to hire a qualified Deaf applicant for an automation engineer position in Rochester, New York.

👏 After acknowledging the candidate’s perfect skill set, Tech Mahindra declined to move forward with a deaf applicant due to the perceived challenge of having an interpreter on-site.

🛡️Under the ADA, employers are required to provide reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities. This case reaffirms the importance of compliance, prompting Tech Mahindra to implement anti-discrimination policies and ADA training for their staff.

🔓 Unlock the Benefits of Diversity: Embracing differences in candidates brings invaluable advantages to the workforce, including enhanced innovation, improved problem-solving, and access to a broader talent pool.

💼 Considering Expanding your Team? Supporting individuals with disabilities is simpler and more cost-effective than you think. Let TCS assist you in fostering a more inclusive workplace.

Exciting Announcement! Landmark EEOC Case Win!

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) just announced that a jury awarded a $1.675M judgement against McLane Northeast for refusing to interview or hire a qualified Deaf applicant, violating the ADA.

This case is an important precedent showing that Deaf people and people with disabilities must be included in companies' search for talent and must be treated fairly in the workplace.

The high unemployment rate in both Deaf and disabled communities show that people are being denied the ability to earn a livelihood AND companies are being deprived of valuable talent. This new ruling will help open hiring managers’ minds to what is possible.

We are honored to have been trusted by the EEOC to provide ASL interpreting services for this crucial trial, and we are thrilled with the incredible impact it has for the broader community (thank you EEOC for letting us share this).

Hiring managers: It’s easier than you think to create policies and procedures that include people regardless of differences; TCS can help you do just that. Contact us to get started today!
