Born in Myanmar, Thant’s early experiences shaped his deep commitment to helping others. As a volunteer, he’s given 179 hours of service in Guest & Visitor Services — greeting patients and families with compassion every Sunday morning.

His passion for service continues beyond the hospital walls, volunteering at a local homeless shelter and studying biochemistry at the University of Maryland to become a physician assistant.

We’re proud to celebrate Thant’s journey and the many volunteers like him who bring heart and hope to our mission.

It's ! Today, we’re debunking a common myth: Are mammograms painful?

While pain tolerance is different for each person, the compression from a mammogram should not be painful for most women. Many women worry about discomfort, but most describe the experience as a few seconds of pressure – not pain. That brief moment of pressure could be the key to early detection and peace of mind. Learn the truth about common mammography myths with our very own, Dr. Nikki Tirada, Director of Women’s Imaging at Adventist HealthCare: https://bit.ly/3E0FCX6
