Healthcare diversity

I have been a Medical doctor serving patients as a Pediatrician for over 18 years. A common comment from my patients parents are you ask a lot of questions and you are different. I having been toggling trying to really obtain a detailed enough history to serve patients by getting to the root cause of their child’s complaint for years within the short time frame we are expected to see patients to pay for the clinic to stay alive. The cost keeps rising and the time with patients at times seems to be decreasing. Although this is the system we can try another way. It is time to push for what I call healthcare diversity. Not diversity in culture or race, but diversity in management of medical cases. Most providers do not want to miss something which could cause harm to their patient but the process does at times seem like that to the patient. We prescribe medications that are needed often times that just do not work for that specific patient or have too many side effects. We want to get to the root cause. How do we do this ! We can take more time to listen and can pay more attention to the patients diet, fitness & exercise, sleep, environment, social factors, and mental health. We can use medicines which can be of complement to standard treatments or integrate alternative medicines which may have less side effects or none. I do not want to abandon allopathic medicine. In the US, we have eradicated polio with vaccinations, we can cure pneumonia, help weather influenza, and treat streptococcal throat infection with penicillin, illnesses which were a death sentence many years ago. I will be working one patient at a time by giving time to listen and if need we will work together to incorporate factors of wellness into their current medical management from their physicians. I have been trained in Homeopathy, the medicines are easy to obtain in any pharmacy or wholefoods grocery. Homeopathic medicines are FDA regulated and are proper to use for all ages with physician supervision. Our office will provide wellness products for sale such as Homeopathic medicines, specific supplements for dietary support which are vegan, gluten free, and without preservative. In addition, we will offer TLS lifestyle coaching in teams to help with weight loss. In the coming month, we will provide medical cannabis certification for patients who qualify in the state of Maryland based on their current medical diagnosis.
