Winter Weather Advisory issued from 1 AM to 10 PM EST Wednesday for Southern Erie and Wyoming counties and the western Southern Tier.

Snow expected with total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Snow will transition to plain rain and
drizzle as soon as early Wednesday morning, first across the lower terrain near Lake Erie, and with increasing temperatures, across inland lower elevations during the day Wednesday. Hill tops may remain as a wet snow through the event, until the early evening when a colder airmass transitions precipitation to a fluffier snow for all locations.

Lead & Toys: What Parents Should Know
Not all toys are safe. Some imported, antique, or unregulated toy jewelry may contain lead, which is harmful to children in any amounts.
Keep kids safe by:
• Avoiding old or imported toys that may contain lead-based paint
• Checking for recalled toys at www.cpsc.gov
• Buying from reputable retailers
When in doubt, choose safety first. Awareness goes a long way in protecting children from lead exposure.

Winter Weather Advisory issued December 3 at 12:36PM EST until December 4 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches in the most persistent lake snows, with the greatest amounts across the Boston Hills and Chautauqua Ridge. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow. Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions with poor visibility. While snowfall amounts will be minor, much of the snow will fall in a brief, heavy burst. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning commute.

Widespread snow has moved into most of the area this morning and will continue through the first half of the day today. While snowfall amounts will be relatively minor, the snow will peak in coverage and intensity during the commute this morning.

Winter Weather Advisory: remains in effect for all of Western NY, Genesee Valley, western Finger Lakes, and most of the eastern Lake Ontario region (except Jefferson County) through 7:00 PM this evening.
