Inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals! Team members from St. Anne Hospital and St. Francis Hospital hosted 31 Tyee High School students for a hands-on career exploration day.

All students are enrolled in the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and Highline Public Schools 4-year Healthcare Professions Program, which connects classroom learning to real-world healthcare scenarios and careers.

During their visit, students explored seven career pathways including BioMed, Diagnostic Imaging, the Family Birth Center, Lab, Perioperative Services, Pharmacy, and Respiratory Therapy. They also toured the hospital to observe daily operations.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the United States, claiming more lives than breast, prostate, and colon cancers combined.

But there is hope. When detected early through low-dose CT screening, lung cancer survival rates increase dramatically. Screening can find cancer before symptoms appear, when treatment is most effective.

Who should get screened? Adults ages 50-80 with a history of smoking may benefit from annual lung cancer screening. Talk to your Virginia Mason Franciscan Health provider about your risk factors and whether screening is right for you.

Early detection changes outcomes. Learn more: vmfh.org/lungcancer

Proud to stand with the Seattle Kraken Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena tonight for the Hockey Fights Cancer game! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’œ

Before puck drop, we offered free prostate cancer screenings for men 40+ via simple blood draw, helping spread awareness about the life-saving benefits of early detection.

The most powerful moment of the night? Watching a cancer survivor ring the official Hockey Fights Cancer bell between periods, celebrating their strength and resilience.

To those fighting cancer, those we've lost, and the survivors who inspire us: We fight alongside you.

Thank you to the Seattle Kraken for championing this important cause and to everyone who participated in screenings tonight. Together, we're making a difference in the fight against cancer.
