Though many days are marked by fatigue, stiffness, and physical limitations, Carlos remains a committed beekeeper who continues to show up to tend his hives.

Parkinson’s can take so much, but it can’t steal what you love. Keep doing what you love, even if you have to do it differently. APDA is here to help with community, support, education, and more.

As we start April we want to share it is Parkinson's Awareness month. Learn more from this attached post!

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing understanding of Parkinson's disease (PD), funding research for a cure, and supporting the nearly one million Americans affected. Organizations like the Parkinson’s Foundation and APDA utilize this time to share educational resources, promote early diagnosis, and host events. The month highlights the need for improved treatments and supports those living with the neurodegenerative disorder.
Key Aspects of Parkinson’s Awareness Month:
"Find Real Answers" Campaign: The Parkinson's Foundation is focusing on providing reliable, science-backed information and tools, including their AI-powered Ask PAM tool.
World Parkinson's Day (April 11): A key day within the month often used to "Spark The Night" to raise awareness of the hidden struggles of PD.
Get Involved: Public participation includes joining Moving Day events, taking awareness quizzes, and sharing educational materials.
Symbol: The red tulip is recognized as the symbol for Parkinson’s disease awareness.
