Grace Internal Medicine – 2025

We are thrilled to begin the new year by celebrating someone who embodies the very heart of Grace Internal Medicine: Gail Gerford, our 2025 Employee of the Year.

Gail joined us after retiring from a long and dedicated career in cardiology as a transcriptionist. She initially came on board as a medical scribe for Dr. Buffaloe, but it quickly became clear that her deeper gifts — especially her experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse — were meant for something more. A role that held a special place in Dr. Buffaloe’s heart: patient advocacy.

In this role, Gail has become a lifeline for so many of our patients. She reaches out to those our providers are concerned about, checking in to ensure their care plans are working and that they feel supported. She serves as a true bridge — between patients and providers, and between Grace Internal Medicine and outside practices — often helping elevate patients to higher levels of care when needed.

Gail exemplifies our core values, especially Respectful Excellence. She treats every patient, colleague, and partner with dignity, kindness, and unwavering professionalism. Her presence strengthens our team and enriches the care we provide every single day.

It is with great honor that we recognize Gail Gerford as our Employee of the Year.

✨ Grace Internal Medicine is celebrating 5 years! ✨

Five years ago, Grace Internal Medicine opened its doors right here in Simpsonville, SC with a simple but powerful goal: to provide thoughtful, compassionate, and excellent primary care to our community. What started as a vision has grown into something truly special - and we are so grateful for every step of the journey.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) for helping Grace build its foundation and for being a wealth of knowledge to Dr. Buffaloe and to the business as a whole. Your guidance gave us roots.

A huge thank you as well to Tribe 513, who helped refine that knowledge and prepare Grace for its biggest adventure yet - going independent this year. Your support, insight, and encouragement gave us the confidence and the launching point we needed, and we are forever grateful.

To Brio, thank you for helping shape Grace into the business it is today, for your support, guidance, and for being a pillar in the community that continues to redefine what excellent healthcare can look like.

To our incredible staff - thank you for believing in the dream and taking the leap with us. Your dedication, heart, and hard work are what make Grace what it is every single day.
