Cursive...
It has been taken out of schools and now some schools are putting it back into the curriculum. How do you weigh in? Do you think it’s important for kids to learn cursive? 📖 📚 ✏️

We have homeschooled our kids for the last 3 years. My daughter already knew how to right in cursive before we started homeschooling, but my son did not. The Montessori school they attended taught cursive in the 3rd grade. My son was third grade this year so I started teaching him cursive and we’ll work on it through the summer.

I’m also a pediatric occupational therapist and we work on fine motor and handwriting skills with children that have difficulty in those areas.

I have a favorite handwriting program that I’ve used with kids in our therapy practice and it’s what I’m using with my son. He loves it too!! 💗 📝

Not falling asleep easily or not getting quality sleep at night affects so many people and there are natural solutions that can really help.

So many families struggle with kiddos who are picky eaters, have a super hard time sitting still and paying attention, or falling and staying asleep.

I still wake up with extra people in my bed 😜 🛌 but my daughter’s sleep issues have gotten much better over the years from implementing things I have learned. My son’s sensory processing issues have improved so much as well!

As an occupational therapist, primarily in pediatrics, I have done a lot of research on the negative effects common household chemicals can have on people in general. But these negative effects really hit home with me when my research showed they can affect pregnant women, babies and children. Many developmental delays and behavior issues in children can be triggered or exacerbated by chemicals we use in our homes on a regular basis.

This is a great recipe that’s an alternative to bleach which contains some pretty harsh chemicals.
