Yes, everyone talks to themselves, and the words you use with yourself matter. How often do you catch yourself saying “I’ll try to... I hope to... I plan to...”? These phrases leave room for things not to happen. In the words of Dr. Frasier Crane (I love my sitcoms), we need to “commit to commitment.” Leave no room for uncertainty. Hold yourself accountable and notice how changing your self-talk changes your mindset.

I love Billy Joel, and Vienna is on my mind as I write. The lyrics are simple and true: "Slow down, you're doin' fine. You can't be everything you wanna be before your time." Do you find yourself living in future weeks, months, or years? Take time to live in the present—it's the only place we truly experience life's good moments.

🌿 Healing Can Be Messy: The Overgrown Garden Analogy 🌿

In this video, I share a story from my childhood—pulling ivy from an old stone wall—and how it became a powerful analogy for healing. Like that garden, our emotional landscape can get overgrown. And when we finally start pulling things back, it often gets more chaotic before it gets better.

Healing can be confusing, uncomfortable, and even lonely—especially when those around us don’t fully understand our process. But just like clearing a garden, there is beauty beneath the mess, waiting to be uncovered.

If you're in a season of healing, this message is for you. đŸŒ±

“Healing begins the moment you feel heard.”
In therapy, it’s not just the techniques that matter—it’s the relationship. The trust. The courage it takes to speak up, give feedback, and say what you really need.

The Solace Seat is a space where your voice is not just welcomed—it’s essential. Because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. And your story deserves to be met with care, curiosity, and collaboration.

đŸȘ‘✚ This is your seat. Your space. Your time.
Let’s redefine what safety and growth can feel like—together.

Let’s take a moment to H.A.L.T., baby! It’s so good for us to take time throughout the day and check in on ourselves. With the world’s obsession with productivity, we are often tempted to treat ourselves like little machines. Let’s make sure that, just as we would take care of and nurture a little one, that we extend the same nurture and support to ourselves. Your body, mind, and soul will thank you 💚😼‍💹🙏

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy is one of my favorite books and short films. Tears flowing down my face every time. It helped me during a time when my own mental health was on the struggle bus. This little video continues to be a reminder to me that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

I wrote this in my journal this morning. It’s Monday. A holiday. Memorial Day. Also? Just another day around the sun.
Some days feel like magic. The breeze hits just right, the playlist syncs with your heartbeat, your body has endless energy, and even the smells carry you to a sweet memory. ✹
But if it’s not that, I often don’t want it at all. If the vibe is “off,” I tend to throw in the towel. Why bother if it’s not going to be amazing?
That mindset can be so self-defeating.
Today? I’m sick. Have been for a week. I’m stuffed up and cranky and not at all zen. But I walked anyway. It was grey. Quiet. Nothing spectacular. No Mario Kart technicolor vibes. Just a simple, slow walk.
And yet
I noticed the neighbor’s garden. I felt my joints loosen. It wasn’t magical. But it mattered.
Not every day will sparkle. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth showing up for.
You don’t need full energy or perfect conditions to be present.
Half-hearted efforts still count. Quiet days matter, too.

Some days, just making it through is the win.
You might feel off, question your purpose, wonder what’s wrong with you.

But self?
If all you did today was show up — to the meeting, to the sink, to the cat’s bowl — that’s enough.

Your body’s whispering: rest.
Recharge.
You’ll find your rhythm again.

Your cup needs filling, too. 💛
