Hosting family and friends this holiday season? A few simple changes can make all the difference for guests with hearing loss.

Background noise from music, kitchen sounds, and multiple conversations happening at once can make it tough for someone with hearing loss to follow along - even with hearing aids. But you can help.

Cut down on background noise, make sure spaces are well-lit so people can see faces clearly, keep sight lines open, arrange seating in a circle so everyone can participate, and designate a quieter area where people can step away if needed.

These small adjustments help everyone feel included and make your gathering more comfortable for all your guests.

Hearing loss affects nearly 48 million Americans, making it the third most common health condition in the U.S. If you're experiencing it, you're not alone.

Unfortunately, most people wait years before doing anything about it. But the sooner you address hearing loss, the better your outcomes tend to be. Your brain needs those sound signals to stay sharp, and hearing aids help keep those connections strong.

If you've been putting off getting your hearing checked, now's the time. We make the process easy and comfortable, and we're here to answer any questions you have.

Give us a call to schedule your hearing evaluation.

If you're not hearing as well as you think you should with your current hearing aids, give us a call. Let's figure out what's going on and get you hearing your best.

For World Mental Health Day, we want to talk about the connection between hearing loss and mental health.

According to Reuters Health, adults with hearing loss are 47% more likely to experience depression symptoms. When you can't hear conversations clearly, it's easy to start avoiding social situations. You skip dinners with friends, stop going to events, and before you know it, you're feeling isolated and alone.

But the good news is that regular hearing aid use has been associated with a lower prevalence of depression, with some studies showing reductions in depressive symptoms within just three months of hearing aid use.

Hearing aids don't just help you hear better. They help you stay connected to the people and activities you love. They bring you back into conversations, laughter, and life.

If you or someone you love is dealing with hearing loss and feeling isolated, we're here to help. Schedule a hearing evaluation with us, and let's talk about how we can reconnect you to your world.

Early hearing treatment protects brain health-

New analysis released in August 2025, from the long-running Framingham Heart Study is making headlines, and the message is clear: don’t delay treatment. Now's the time to spark patient conversations about treatment since the sooner patients act, the more protection they'll have for their brain and quality of life.
New study

What researchers found:
Adults who treated their hearing loss reduced the risk of dementia by 61%.
Early treatment is essential, after age 70 the benefit was lost.
Those with untreated hearing loss had a much higher risk.

While online courses do allow students to set up their own accommodations, like online captioning and ASL interpreters beyond the college's resources, there are still challenges for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

During high school, teachers and administrators typically initiate and provide the required accommodations for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. However, once students enter college, they transition into legal adulthood, and as a result, they are accountable for ensuring they receive the necessary services and support.

Put down the cotton swabs!

Your ears are actually designed to take care of themselves. The wax naturally works its way out without any help from you.

Trying to clean your ears with cotton swabs or other tools can actually push wax deeper and cause problems.

If you're experiencing a real blockage or hearing issues, that's when it's time to see a professional who can safely remove it.

If you're dealing with earwax buildup or have concerns about your hearing, give us a call to schedule an appointment.
