Did you know that you can easily swap or add lentils to your favorite recipes that use ground meat? This swap or addition is particularly seamless with ground beef or ground turkey. The benefits of swapping or adding lentils to recipes include:
• cost savings as lentils are usually less expensive than ground meat
• health benefits of added fiber
• can be an effective way to add more bulk to your meals to get more servings out of your recipe
Making the swap or addition is simple! Use a 1 to 1 ratio of lentils to ground beef in recipes (1 cup dry lentils = 1 pound ground beef). Cook according to instructions, season like you would the meat, and add to the dish following the recipe!
