Flourish is a living, liquid probiotic supplement. Probiotics in liquid form are in their most natural state and environment. flourish is brewed in artisanal, small batch, traditional old-world style using only the finest, meticulously sought out ingredients (see also ingredient question). It contains eleven diverse strains of good gut bacteria, including multiple genera of: Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Enterococcus, Bacillus, and Saccharomyces. These strains are grown together in community, versus most powdered probiotic capsules where the strains are grown individually and combined only after having been centrifuged and freeze-dried. This is the theory of consortia, a process of co-growth that combines multiple strains during production; each strain develops while interacting with other strains. The result is microorganisms that become a small eco-system, much more resilient and capable of working together synergistically. This methodology is more similar to how microorganisms actually survive in the natural environment. In nature, strains do not exist in isolation or pure culture; they are always interacting with each other. Because the strains remain in their most natural state and are living, active beneficial bacteria, the solution retains all of the beneficial metabolites and organic acids released by the bacteria during their normal life cycle. These metabolites also have benefits for the human body, especially the brain and immune system.
