Meet 𝗝𝗶𝗹𝗹, another one of our amazing leaders at Sioux Center Health. After walking through pregnancy complications of her own, Jill felt God was drawing her to a career in nursing to support mothers throughout their delivery processes.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗕/𝗟&𝗗? I have been working in OB since 2016, so 10 years already! I have been in my role as Postpartum and Nursery Coordinator since 2023.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗕 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲? A great OB nurse really listens and advocates for their patients, listening to their concerns, and is committed to educating and ensuring that these new families are fully equipped to prepare for the new adventure of parenthood that lies ahead of them.

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳? I have 3 boys and 1 girl, ranging from the ages of 25-15. Even though they are older, I still feel like I can relate to our new moms, and absolutely love helping new parents get off to a great start with breastfeeding, postpartum and newborn cares.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵? By far the best thing about delivering at Sioux Center Health is our team! We have an excellent team of physicians and nurses who are highly trained and provide compassionate care for our OB patients!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱?
I felt that I could make my labor my own. When I wanted to do position changes or cope with the pains of labor in my own way (shower, tub, walking) the staff were my best advocates in helping me have the best experience. I also had the same nurse that helped me with the delivery of my first 1.5 years ago. So special!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀?
The nurses and Dr. Stroeh were extremely encouraging during my labor. Then afterward during postpartum, the nurses were so much fun to chat with and were helpful with questions and getting medications and supplies needed for me and my daughter to have a great recovery.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗢𝗕 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲?
If you want to be somewhere you feel supported, safe, and well taken care of, I can't recommend SCH enough. It's awesome to have consistency in care with your doctor from the beginning of your pregnancy to throughout your postpartum journey.

I’ve been working in Labor & Delivery for 2.5 years.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗕 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲?
While in nursing school, I always felt drawn to OB. Being able to support women during such an emotional, life-changing experience is incredibly meaningful. Every day is different, I love the fast pace, and I love the impact we get to make on families.

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳?
I have two boys at home, 2.5 years old and 4 months. I have loved becoming a mom. After having kids, I felt the labor and postpartum experience is much more relatable. I love being able to connect with my patients and share tips and tricks that work for each one of us!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗕/𝗟&𝗗? I have been working in OB/L&D for 5 years. I have been serving in my role as Labor and Delivery Coordinator since May 2023!

Labor and delivery can be unpredictable, and it’s okay to not have everything go exactly as planned. 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳? I am a mom – I have one 18-month-old little girl. Motherhood has been an absolute dream – we truly couldn’t imagine our lives without her. Being both a mom and an OB nurse give me a deeper, more personal understanding of what mamas experience during their pregnancy and delivery, even into the postpartum period. I understand the excitement, fear, vulnerability, and strength that comes with bringing a baby into the world allowing me to care for all patients.
