I spent part of my evening with such an AMAZING woman! She may struggle to communicate but there are so many things that she loves and still remembers and things she excels at….
PUZZLES are her thing. She can still look at pieces and see where they go with lightening speed at times. It’s so fun to work with her on them.
PRAYING THE ROSARY//LISTENING TO CHURCH HYMNS…this has become one of my favorite things. At times when she struggles these two things are so calming for her. Remembering is tough for every day things but she can say every prayer of the rosary and recognize the different hymns she listens too.

She may have a lot of tough moments throughout each day but when I can spend several hours with her having great moments it really makes my day!

Joe Arrigoni is the full-time caretaker for his wife Joani who has early onset Alzheimer's disease. A shopping trip on a particularly difficult day led to a moment of grace that Joe remembers.
