Community outreach coordinator Sayrd attended Boise's 10th Annual Recovery Rally last month, hosted by Peer Wellness Center! The event promoted and supported new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, celebrated the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and recognized those who make recovery in all forms possible.

Other community partners in attendance included Brick House Recovery and Northpoint Recovery.

After Gordon was in a serious car accident, he was prescribed pain medication and eventually became addicted. An addiction he had no control over.

"I was scared and ashamed," he admits.

Gordon knew he needed help, so he scheduled an appointment at Ideal Option.

"I didn’t know what to expect at my first appointment," he recalls. "It was life changing."

Community outreach team members April and Chance represented Ideal Option at Washington Recovery Alliance's Annual Recovery Day at the Mariners! This special event allowed the recovery community, allies, and supporters to show up, make some noise, and cheer on the Seattle Mariners while standing in solidarity for recovery.

Community outreach coordinator Aaron was one of five panelists asked to speak at the September Alliance Meeting, hosted by 100 Families Initiative of Sebastian County in collaboration with the Sebastian County Opioid Task Force.

The other panelists included representatives from Harbor House, Inc., Horizon Renewal Center, Fort Smith Public Schools, and the Fort Smith Police Department.

Last month, Ideal Option team members Yuki and April attended North Sound ACH August Partner Convening: Building a Thriving North Sound. The event was held at the Tulalip Resort and Casino for a full-day convening focused on envisioning the future of the region’s health and well-being.
