Staff Spotlight: Paula, Housekeeping Supervisor
This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Paula, our dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor, who has been an essential part of the team for 12 years here at Accura and brings 20 years of experience in healthcare to her role.
Paula is known not only for her leadership and attention to detail but also for her warm personality and strong commitment to our values. When asked what she enjoys most about working at Accura, Paula shared, “We are a family-oriented group.” That sense of connection and support is something she both values and helps foster every day.
Outside of work, Paula loves spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, who always bring a smile to her face. She describes herself as a “pretty open book,” always approachable and genuine—which is exactly how we see her, too!
We’re grateful for Paula’s hard work, kindness, and the positive energy she brings to our team every day. Thank you, Paula, for all that you do!

BUBBLE BIRTHDAY BASH CAR WASH!🎉🚗

Who needs water when you've got BUBBLES?! 😆🫧 Today’s human car wash was next-level fun—covered in suds, cranking up the tunes 🎶, and celebrating with cake & ice cream 🍰🍦 like pros!

Our residents were LOVING it, and our 2 little helpers stole the show with their bubbly energy and big smiles! 🧒👧💖 From dancing in the foam to frosting-covered high fives, it was a total BLAST! 💥

🎨✨ Today was Crafts with Joyce and we had an absolute blast painting these awesome lanterns! 🏮💖
But the highlight? Joyce brought the cutest little visitors to help boost our group’s morale… 🐶🐾 Yes, PUPPIES!! 😍

There were tail wags, tiny paws, and lots of smiles all around. Nothing lifts spirits like creativity and cuddles! 💕🎨🐕

Today for CNA Week, our amazing Director of Nursing Jaime started the day off sweet 🍩🍪 with some yummy treats for our hardworking CNAs! 💙 Then a few incredible charge nurses, Katie, Monique, and our Assistant Director of Nursing Crisena went above and beyond by treating the team to some delicious Pizza Ranch chicken! 🍗😋

We’re so thankful for all the love and appreciation being shown this week. Thank you Jaime, Katie, and Monique for making our CNAs feel so special! 💐💪

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Richard 🌟

Meet Richard, one of our cherished residents here at Accura Healthcare of Sioux City 💙. Born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa 🌽🏡, Richard has lived a life full of dedication, family, and meaningful memories 📖❤️.

Before joining our community, Richard built an impressive career in the building materials industry 🏗️. He began his journey at Sioux City Building Supply, where he worked for 10 years, until the company was acquired by Hawkeye Distribution 🔄. Richard’s commitment didn’t waver—he stayed on for another 35 years 💼, proving that reliability and a strong work ethic are the foundations of a great career 💪👏.

Around our facility, Richard is known for his love of Bingo 🎉 and Uno 🃏. Whether he's playing for fun or aiming for the win 🏆, he always brings a joyful energy to every game 😄.

When asked about the most special moment in his life, Richard fondly recalls the day his son was born 👶—a memory that still brings a big smile to his face 😊. It’s also his proudest accomplishment and a reminder of the love and purpose that family brings 💖👨‍👦.

Richard has been with us once before, spending six months at our facility in the past. When the time came to choose a long-term home, he chose to return 🏠—a decision that speaks volumes. “It feels like family here,” he says, and we couldn’t be more honored to have him back 🙌.

His advice for the younger generation?
"Enjoy life while you're young—it slips by too quickly.” ⏳🌈
