Our Name is Changing!

Physical Therapy Specialists is pleased to announce we will be joining Rock Valley Physical Therapy this March. Physical Therapy Specialists and Rock Valley are both therapist-owned private practices who are committed to taking great care of patients and serving our Midwest communities. Quite simply, we feel our companies are stronger together than apart. By joining Rock Valley, we will be able to continue to offer the high quality, patient-focused care previously received at Physical Therapy Specialists with even more resources behind us.
Our same great staff will be present to greet you. Our locations, phone and fax will also remain the same as we transition to Rock Valley Physical Therapy. In the meantime, check out more about our exciting future at rockvalleypt.com.
We expect this partnership to allow us to continue serving our local communities for years to come.

Congratulations to Serenity on her recent win with the AAU Winter Nationals. She took home 3rd place in the Heavy Weight Schoolgirl Division! After an injury, this standout wrestler has worked hard in physical therapy to return to the mat.
Kate Vlach, her PT, has treated her with a mixture of gait analysis, manual therapy, visceral work, core strengthening and neuromuscular re-education.
Serenity has shown true grit and determination. Best of luck at your next match! Be on the watch for this rising star!

Our patient, Tim Schmitt, would like to give us a shout out, especially to his therapist Tim Saulsbury. Tim has been coming here through the years with hip, back, and neck pain as well as doing therapy after knee replacements. He says we have been his “go to” when life’s trials and tribulations start causing him bodily harm. Tim says he can always count on PT Specialists to help him up, dust him off and get his parts moving again. Thanks for the kind words Tim and thanks for choosing us!

John Hildman is the PTA at our Tyson clinic. He enjoys all the different types of people he treats. He likes that he can do therapy and then observe them doing their job to see how it is going or what still needs to be corrected. John is known to run a tight ship. Now at home we aren’t sure. He and his wife Jen have two daughters, three dogs, two cats and one fish! He enjoys traveling, pheasant hunting, military history, volunteering and mentoring at church and belonging to the Knights of Columbus. He is also first in line for our burrito challenges. Happy PT month John -we are lucky to have you!

Meghan Nelson says don’t let this picture fool you-paperwork is her least favorite part of the job! She became a therapist as she was fascinated about the human body and how to heal it. Meghan loves doing patient education so they can work on their healing. She also likes being hands on to assist with their recovery. She treats pediatrics to geriatrics as well as one day a week doing school-based therapy. Her interests include traveling, being outdoors, hiking and spending time with her family. We love Meghan’s positive attitude and wish her a happy PT month!

Jeanne Jones has been a physical therapist for 35 years. She is originally from the Chicagoland area. She has started a women’s health program at two facilities as well as a fibromyalgia program. Her specialties include orthopedics, women’s health, chronic pain, headaches, post concussion syndrome and geriatrics. Jeanne says one of the greatest things about her job is meeting so many amazing people and helping them return to the best version of themselves. She likes working at our clinic because everyone is friendly and dedicated to helping patients recover in a welcoming and safe environment. We love Jeanne’s “Dance Fridays” and hope she is having a great PT month!

Today’s spotlight is on Dr. Tim Saulsbury, co-owner of the clinic. His original preference was not physical therapy. He wanted to be a cowboy or mountain man. Since disappointing his parents would be more than he could bear, he made the decision to stay in school. It was a great choice as Tim likes using physical principles to improve patient’s health and function as well as interacting with them. He is currently treating his 9th grade football coach’s wife who attributes him with saving her leg after a major surgery. Tim enjoys hunting, fishing, working outside and spending time with his family. We wish Tim a happy PT month and appreciate him!

MacKenzie McLean is part of our PT group at Dakota Dunes. She had a season ending knee injury in high school resulting in over six months of physical therapy. She found herself loving the idea of this career and wanting to help others in the same way. MacKenzie enjoys forming relationships with people and helping them to be the best versions of themselves. Being a PT allows her to do both of these daily! She enjoys reading, especially thrillers and fantasies but is always up for recommendations. She loves how the clinic works as a team. An added bonus is their surplus of sour gummy worms they stock up on. We are very pleased to have her on our team. Happy PT month MacKenzie!
