World Helicopter day!

🚁 Helicopter air ambulances can reach patients up to 4 times faster than ground ambulances.

In emergency medical situations—like heart attacks, strokes, or severe accidents—every minute counts. Helicopter air ambulances can bypass traffic, rough terrain, and long distances, getting patients to hospitals much faster than road ambulances.

This speed has saved countless lives, especially in rural or hard-to-reach areas where ground access is limited. Some air ambulance helicopters even function as flying intensive care units, equipped with advanced life-support systems and critical care teams on board. For our ground crews with a sick patient....think "Wings will get them there faster!" Call us if you need us!

Super Saturday Fact: 🚁 Fun Fact: The Bell 407 is not just reliable—it’s also pretty speedy for a helicopter its size, cruising at around 133 knots (about 153 mph or 246 km/h)!

This impressive speed helps medical teams get to patients quickly and get them to hospitals faster, which can make a huge difference in emergencies where every minute counts. Plus, its top speed can reach up to 155 knots (178 mph / 287 km/h) in ideal conditions—making it one of the fastest single-engine helicopters in its class. The more you know!

New day, new spotlight! The air crew at Wings Air Rescue certainly appreciates our AMT Kyle! He's kind of elusive in photos but we appreciate all that he does from traveling to coming in late at nights to keep us flying! 🚁 mastering a vehicle that defies the laws of gravity. Here's to you Kyle, "real man of genious!"

While aircraft continue to change materials and appearance, there’s one thing that remains consistent: the role of an aviation maintenance technician. Today, GMR is honored to recognize all our amazing AMTs. Their hard work and dedication play a critical role in supporting the safety of our crews and patients. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to excellence.
