Join Dementia Friendly America (DFA) for their Nov 18 potluck Dementia Friendsgiving celebration.

Do you have a connection to the dementia-friendly movement? It could be a family member you love, a neighbor you helped at the grocery store, or a more formal involvement with the movement through work, study, or volunteering. Or maybe you just want to know about this lively and growing movement and the role it can play in your community.

Join Dementia Friendly America (DFA) for their Nov 18 potluck Dementia Friendsgiving celebration. Registration is free and open to anyone: people living with dementia, care partners, aging services professionals, volunteers in the movement, business owners interested in dementia-friendly practices, state and local leaders who want to bring dementia-friendly practices to their jurisdictions, and any individual who wants to learn about and be inspired by the dementia-friendly movement.

You’ll hear directly from people living with dementia, discover best practices for local dementia friendly efforts, and get tips from dementia care specialists Teepa Snow and Angela Lunde on how communities can support people living with dementia in a positive and respectful way.

Find out why this movement matters and where it’s headed on Nov 18! Register here:

Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways people living with dementia communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost.
However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage.
Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common triggers, and learn strategies to help manage some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

November is National Caregiver Appreciation Month!

Families are often the primary source of support for older adults and people with disabilities. In fact, today in America, more than 53 million family caregivers provide unpaid care1. That's an economic value totaling more than $470 billion.
That's why every November we celebrate National Family Caregivers Month. While family caregivers should be celebrated every day, this is a time to recognize and honor caregivers nationally, raise awareness around caregiving issues, educate communities, and work to increase support for our nation's caregivers.

Reach out today to learn more about how Active Generations supports unpaid family caregivers year round!!
