There’s a difference between being “too much”…
and being someone who’s been carrying too much for too long.

A lot of people don’t realize how heavy things have gotten
until it starts showing up as stress, overwhelm, or exhaustion.

This isn’t about being dramatic.
It’s about being human.

And maybe it’s time to put some of it down.

You might call it stress.
You might say you’re just “busy.”

But when everything starts to feel like too much…
that’s usually a sign your system is overloaded.

Not broken.
Not failing.
Just carrying more than it was meant to hold.

If even one of these hit… it might be time to pause, not push.

Therapy gets misunderstood… a lot.

Not because people don’t care, but because most of us were never taught what it actually is.

So we hear things like:
“I should be able to handle this.”
“It’s not bad enough.”
“I don’t even know where I’d start.”

Here’s the truth: therapy isn’t about being broken.
It’s about understanding yourself in a way that actually helps you move forward.

No pressure.
No perfect words.
Just real conversations and real progress.

Mother’s Day can hold a lot.

Love.
Grief.
Pressure.
Joy.
Distance.
Longing.

Whatever it is for you… it’s valid.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Not in a “fix everything” kind of way.
In a “be honest about what’s not working” kind of way.

Because a lot of the things that exhaust us…
we’ve been taught to normalize.

The overgiving.
The overthinking.
The constant pressure to keep going.

Awareness is where it shifts.

They may not take notes…
but they definitely know when you need a little extra support.

For some clients, having a therapy dog in the room can make all the difference, more comfort, less pressure, and a space that feels a little more human.

Whether it’s a quiet presence, a grounding moment, or just a soft place to land… they’re part of the work, too.

At PLC, you can spend time with Ollie during your session, or even bring your own dog along. Because sometimes support doesn’t have to look traditional to be effective.

Happy National Therapy Animal Day to the ones who show up in ways words can’t.

Growth can look like this:
Talking to yourself with more kindness.
Not abandoning yourself when things feel hard.
Choosing yourself… even in small ways.

Not dramatic. Just different.

A gentle reminder, you’re allowed to be on your own side.

Slowing down can feel uncomfortable at first.

Like you’re missing something.
Like you should be doing more.
Like everyone else is moving faster.

But your nervous system doesn’t heal in a rush.

It resets in moments like this, quiet, steady, and a little slower than you’re used to.

You’re not behind.
You’re just learning a different pace.

When stress builds up, the answer isn’t always to push harder, do more, or power through.

Sometimes it’s as simple (and as hard) as pausing.
Stepping away.
Letting your nervous system reset.

A few minutes can make a difference.
Not because everything changes… but because you do.

Welcome to a space that feels a little different.

Soft light.
Comfortable seating.
A place where you don’t have to rush, perform, or have the right words.

This is where the real conversations happen, the ones that don’t always have easy answers, but matter anyway.

You don’t have to show up as anything other than yourself here. Just come as you are.

Big days can bring big energy.

Excitement.
Sugar.
Noise.
All of it.

And then… a moment like this.

Grounded. Present. Real.

Happy Easter.
