The Partners on the Patio event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many dedicated immunization partners! Hosted by Immunize South Dakota and South Dakota Families for Vaccines, this was a fantastic chance to share information, discuss new strategies and strengthen our collective efforts to improve immunization rates in the state. A big thank you to both organizations for hosting!

We are so grateful for these physicians' many years of service to healthcare and the medical profession. The SDSMA met with Senator John Thune on August 19 to discuss key issues impacting South Dakota's physicians and patients. We advocated for Medicare payment reform, addressed prior authorization delays, and emphasized the importance of evidence-based medicine to ensure a healthier future for all South Dakotans. We also thanked the senator for his support of rural medicine, PBM reform, and other issues facing patients in South Dakota and across the country.

Congratulations USD Sanford School of Medicine on the beginning of a new transformative chapter that will benefit all of South Dakota!

The University of South Dakota has announced that the USD Sanford School of Medicine will move the first 18 months of the Doctor of Medicine program from Vermillion to Sioux Falls starting in summer of 2027.
