: A major achievement for Team South Dakota!

Our South Dakota National Guard marksmanship team earned an incredible 2nd Place 🥈 in the team rifle competition at the 2026 U.S. Army Small Arms Championships!

Command Sgt. Maj. Marcus Stacey, the SDNG Senior Enlisted Leader, states: "This accomplishment... is fundamentally a matter of readiness. These soldiers will now disseminate this expertise throughout their home units, thereby enhancing the lethality and effectiveness of our entire force."

Last month, the 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade successfully participated in the annual Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) and Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) at the Sioux Falls Armory.

The Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) covers a variety of essential topics including pay, reenlistments, available resources, and health and dental insurance.

The Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) includes evaluations such as dental, hearing, and vision exams, as well as ensuring all service members are current on their immunizations.

The 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade is excited to welcome four new Soldiers to our team! Pvt. Harsh Chaudhari, Pfc. Emmitt Richter, Pfc. Landon Tschetter, and Pfc. Alexa Gortmaker joined us for their first drill on November 3rd, 2024.

On behalf of the 196th MEB, we extend a warm welcome to these Soldiers and wish them success as they begin their military careers with us!
